Study programme
Material Engineering
Our goal is quality teaching with innovative learning elements and a high emphasis on the implementation of the latest knowledge and expertise in the field of metallic and non-metallic materials. The set of fields of study and study programmes of the Faculty of Materials, Metallurgy and Recycling of the Technical University of Košice for full-time study in the academic year 2024/2025 at the Institute of Materials:
- Degree of university study: 2. grade, Engineering (Ing.)
- Field of study: Mechanical Engineering
- Study programme: Material engineering
- Form of study: Full-time
Characteristics of the Graduate:
The graduate has a deep professional and methodological knowledge in the specialized field of study of Mechanical Engineering dedicated to common and progressive metallic, non-metallic structural materials and composites, especially in the field of knowledge of the connections and relationships between their chemical composition, structure and technically important properties, which can be modified by processing operations, such as various techniques of forming, heat and chemical-thermal processing, welding and surface treatments. Proficient in the methods and procedures of sophisticated structural and phase analyses used in the identification of materials in development, science and research. The student is able to actively acquire new information and knowledge, integrate it and use it in applications in engineering and development in the field of materials engineering.
